What to know before you enroll
What's covered
Accidental damage, hardware failure, loss and theft, depending on the plan. Cracked screens and liquid spills on phones and portable devices are part of it.
Which devices qualify
Phones, laptops, tablets, Bluetooth headphones, gaming consoles, smart watches, VR headsets, smart home devices such as video doorbells, cameras, smart locks and routers, and LED or LCD TVs. Devices can be new or a few years old, from any store, as long as they work when you enroll.
What isn't covered
Household appliances such as refrigerators, microwaves, washers and dryers, TVs other than LED and LCD, professional audio speakers, and computers running systems older than Windows 8 or OS X.
Home electronics have a 30-day wait
Coverage for home electronics starts 30 days after you enroll.
The loss and theft insurance is underwritten by Universal Underwriters Insurance Company, which is not affiliated with the Farmers Insurance Group. The program is administered by Likewize Device Protection, LLC.
